There are many things in life that give us a sense of security. It may be our job, our health, our safety, our reputation or status, or even someone we love. So here is a question…if these things were all taken away, what would keep you standing firm? Jesus says that He is a solid foundation. Following His advice for life is like building our lifes on an unshakable foundation. We’ve found that no matter what storm comes our way, we are secure as long as we build our lifes on Him. We can put our confidence in Jesus knowing that He is constant and faithful, and that His love for us will never fail.
Dear God in heaven, I want to be able to face difficult times with confidence instead of fear. I need someone greater than myself to be my foundation when life gets shaky. Show me how to put my trust in you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
